Lyn Cain Trophy 2014 links for the second year with Help Harry Help Others, raising an amazing £3800 for the charity bringing the total raised over 20 years of the Tournament to a fantastic £63,225
This year’s tournament was held on Sunday 7th September. For the 20th year of this Tournament the weather was fantastic – blue skies and sunshine.
As ever a great days’ netball saw a great final between Sutton Town and Lyndon Centre, with Lyndon Centre triumphant on the day.
“The Joan Annie Lacey Trophy” for the player of the tournament as voted for by umpires was won by Laura Vale of Lyndon Centre.
As a result of the excellent support we receive every year we raised a fantastic £3800 for our charity Help Harry Help Others www.hhho.org.uk and we look forward to another year linking with this fantastic locally based charity who supported us through the event with Harry’s mum – Georgie – receiving the cheque from Lyn’s parents – Derek & Moira who come and support us every year together with Lyn’s brother Bryan.
This brings our total fundraising through the Lyn Cain Trophy since 1995 to £63,225 supporting cancer related charities. A fantastic achievement particularly in today’s economic climate. And 2015 will be the Tournaments 21st birthday!!!
